The Tibetan Association of Alberta is a non-profit organization of Tibetans in the province of Alberta with the majority of its members residing in the city of Calgary.  It’s mission is to preserve, foster and promote the rich and unique Tibetan culture and heritage not only within the Tibetan community but also with the Canadian community at large under the leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

About

In 1972, the Tibetan Community of Alberta (TCA) was formed to provide a spiritual and cultural home for the Tibetans living in Alberta. In 1977, the TCA was formally registered and incorporated as a non-profit organization under the Societies Act in the province of Alberta.

URGENT APPEAL TO ALL TIBETANS TO DONATE TO HELP INDIA IN THE COVID-19 CRISIS

Tashi Delek everyone,As India is grappling with unprecedented healthcare tragedy amid the second wave of COVID-19, the Central Tibetan Administration has urged all Tibetans to donate to the PM CARES FUND, Prime Minister’s Emergency Relief Fund, to show our solidarity with the people and the Government of India. CTA officials and staff are contributing their one-day salary to the PM CARES FUND and similarly Tibetan communities across the world are requested to immediately begin collecting donations and send them to the respective Office of Tibet by May 6, 2021.Hence, TAA is urging all Tibetans to donate, any amount in one’s capacity, to help our Indian brothers and sisters in their toughest times. We have created two options to donate:

1) Online via Interac e-transfer to TAA account at albertatibetan@gmail.com and please mention ‘DONATION TO COVID-INDIA’ on the Comment section,

2) In person donation – TAA executive will collect donations at Chikhang (2339 16A Street SE) on Sunday, May 2nd from 10 AM – 6 PM. All donations must be sent to TAA before May 5, 2021 in order for us to forward the donations to the Office of Tibet by May 6, 2021. Thank you.
